Chef Patron Alain Roux

Alain Roux, member of the renowned Roux family, is patron of the Michelin star holding restaurant The Waterside Inn.

 

Alain Roux, born in 1968 as Michel Roux’s son, decided to become a chef when he was 14 years old. He spent eight years in France to gain experince, and worked at the Pâtisserie Millet to become a pastry chef, he then moved on to various Michelin starred French restaurants, including Pic in Valence and La Côte Saint-Jacques at Joigny.

In 1992, Roux went back to his family’s restaurant the Waterside Inn in Bray where he became demi-chef de partie. Almost 20 years later, Roux became the chef patron, making him the leader of the only restaurant outside France to hold three Michelin stars for 25 years.

 

Alain Roux has appeared one of the judges on MasterChef: The Professionals and is currently a judge of the Roux Scholarship.
