Tom Aikens, the youngest British chef ever to be awarded two Michelin stars, is soon opening his fourth restaurant at Westferry Circus in Canary Wharf.

Born in Norwich into a wine merchant family, Aikens soon became acquainted with the importance of food and especially the French gastronomy thanks to many travels to France.  To deepen his knowledge about cooking, he studied at the Norwich City College Hotel School and started working at the Michelin starred David Cavalier’s restaurant in London. The restaurant was re-opened in 2012 after an extensive refurbishment, including not only the restaurant’s interior but the menu as well.

In 2006, the brasserie-style Tom’s Kitchen openend in Chelsea, followed by another Tom’s Kitchen at London’s Somerset House three years later. His fourth restaurant is supposed to open on Saturday 29 June 2013 at Westferry Circus in Canary Wharf, and will include a restaurant, bar and deli.

Tom Aiken is the author of three cookery books, ‘Cooking’ (2006), ‘Fish’ (2008) and ‘Easy’ (2011) and was one of the four Iron Chefs on Channel 4 television.
